Mandala Top

Mandala Top, also known as 108 Mani or 108 Mane, is a high-altitude mountain pass and a popular tourist destination in the West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh, India. Situated at an elevation of around 10,000 feet, it is located near the town of Dirang.

The main attraction at Mandala Top is a circular arrangement of 108 Buddhist stupas. The number 108 is considered sacred in Buddhism and other Indic religions. Each of these stupas is inscribed with the sacred mantra “Om Mani Padme Hum,” and the entire project was completed with contributions from local communities. The site is a significant religious and cultural spot, and visitors traditionally walk around the stupas in a clockwise direction.

Beyond its religious significance, Mandala Top is also a haven for nature lovers and adventure seekers. The area is renowned as a birdwatching paradise, with over 300 species of birds spotted in the surrounding forests. The panoramic views of the Eastern Himalayas are breathtaking, and the location is ideal for photography, especially during sunrise and sunset.
