Don Bosco Museum

The Don Bosco Museum, officially known as the Don Bosco Centre for Indigenous Cultures, is a prominent cultural and educational institution in Shillong, Meghalaya, India. It’s a key destination for tourists and researchers interested in the history and traditions of the indigenous communities of Northeast India.

The museum is a seven-story, hexagonal building with 17 galleries that showcase the diverse cultures of the region. The exhibits include a wide range of artifacts such as traditional clothing, jewelry, musical instruments, hunting and agricultural tools, sculptures, and paintings. The galleries cover various themes, including language, pre-history, agriculture, and the arts of the different tribes. Life-size fiberglass figures are also used to depict the daily life and events of the communities.
