Day wise Itinerary

DAY 1 Guwahati Airport-Nameri ( 250 km/ 05 hr)

Our Tour Manager will welcome you upon your arrival at Guwahati airport. Later transfer to Nameri National Park. Overnight at Eco Camp, a camp resort close to the sparkling Jia Bhoroli river which forms a boundary to the park.

DAY 2 Nameri - Ziro (Approx. 350 Km/ 08 hr)

Ziro
After breakfast transfer to Ziro in Arunachal Pradesh. Enroute we’ll visit the villages of the Nishi tribe. At 5754 ft., Ziro is almost a level valley enclosed on all sides by pine-clad low stooping hills. This area is the home of the Apatani tribe.

DAY 3 Ziro

Full day excursion to the interior of Arunachal Pradesh. Using Ziro as a base the entire day is spent visiting the Hong village, one of the largest tribal villages in Asia & other Apatani villages like Bulla village.

DAY 4 Ziro - Daporijo ( 180 km/ Approx.6-7 hr)

Daporijo
Departing early after breakfast we descend from the Ziro Plateau & drive along the Kamla river valley through dense jungle country, passing picturesque villages of the Nishi & the Hill Miri tribes. Daporijo is a fairly large village on the banks of the Subansiri river. It is the junction of three important tribes: Hill Miri, Tagin & Adi-Gallong. Overnight at a village lodge/Circuit House.

Full day excursion to the interior of Arunachal Pradesh exploring villages of the Tagins & the Hill Miris or Adi Gallongs.

DAY 6 Daporijo - Along (178 km/ Approx.6 hr)

Along
After breakfast we drive to Along in the Siang River Valley. It is the territory of the Adi tribe, one of the largest tribes in Arunachal, with lots of sub groups. On the way to Along, we pass through many small villages (Kabu, Kayin etc.) that we can stop & visit. The Adis are very accomplished weavers of cane goods. The excellence of their cane work shines supreme in the famous cane suspension bridges of Arunachal Pradesh. Overnight at hotel Holiday Cottage or similar.

DAY 7 Along

Along
Full day excursion to the interior part of Arunachal Pradesh. We follow the river Siang in the northern direction & visit the Bori & Pailibo sub groups of the Adi tribe. After having packed lunch at the Bori-Adis village we will hike back to the road head & drive to an Adi- Gallong village.

DAY 8 Along - Pasighat (105 km/ 4 hr)

Pasighat
After breakfast drive to Pasighat. Enroute we visit Minyong-Adi villages like Panging. Pasighat, located on the right bank of the river Siang, is the oldest town in Arunachal. Overnight at hotel Oman or similar.

DAY 9 Pasighat - Aohali - Pasighat

Pasighat
After breakfast leave for Aohali to see Idu Mishimi tribal villages. Later back to Pasighat. Overnight at Pasighat.

DAY 10 Pasighat - Dibrugarh( Approx.5 hrs ferry & a short drive)

Dibrugarh
Transfer to Dibrugarh, one of the main tea belts in Assam. Overnight at a Heritage Tea Garden Bungalow.

DAY 11 Dibrugarh - Mon ( Approx. 180 km/ 5 hr)

Mon
Transfer to Mon in Nagaland. Mon is the home of the Konyak Nagas. They are famous for their accomplished craftsmanship in making woodcarvings, headgears, necklaces etc. Overnight at a local home/ Circuit House.

DAY 12 Mon

Mon
Full day explore the villages of the Konyaks covering Shangnyu and Chui villages. The villages are ruled by the hereditary chief the ‘Angh’.

DAY 13 Mon - Mokokchung (via Assam) ( Approx. 220 km/ 7 hr)

Mokokchung
Transfer to Mokokchung, the home of the Ao tribe of the Nagas. The Ao Nagas are famous for their colourful dances. Overnight at a Village Resort or Tourist Lodge. In the evening enjoy an Ao Naga cultural show.

DAY 14 Mokokchung

Mokokchung
After breakfast we will drive to Mopungchukit village. Meet village folks, see their culture and custom. In the afternoon go to Ungma village. It is the oldest and biggest Ao village & according to a legend the early Ao tribe settled here after coming from Chungliyimit.

DAY 15 Mokokchung -Touphema (121 km/ 5 hr)

Mokokchung
After breakfast drive to Longkhum village, a vanguard Ao village during the days of head hunting. One can find exquisite handicraft and handloom items in this village. Later transfer to Touphema. On the way visit a village of the Lotha tribe near Wokha. Touphema is an Angami Naga village. Overnight at the village resort. In the evening enjoy an Angami Naga cultural show.

DAY 16 Touphema - Kohima( 41 km/ 90 min)

Kohima
First half with the village folk. Later in the afternoon transfer to Kohima, the Nagaland capital. It is located at an altitude of 1444 meters. It is a beautiful town historically known to the world for halting the Japanese forces in the World War II. The War cemetery is a must see. Apart from that the museum is an interesting place and if you are interested in taking home some mementos then the Govt. Sales Emporium is the place where you will get the rich handloom and handicraft items.

DAY 17 Kohima - Khonoma village - Kohima

Kohima
Excursion to Khonoma, another interesting Angami Naga village. Located 20 km West of Kohima, Khonoma village is known for the valour, courage and fighting ability of its people in the past. The village is noteworthy for conservation of nature. This is an area where you may see the rare Blyth’s Tragopan, the state bird of Nagaland.

DAY 18 Kohima - Dimapur Airport (74 km/ 2 hr)

Transfer to Dimapur Airport on time for your departure flight.

Important notes on hotels in Arunachal Pradesh and other remote areas

  • Most of the hotels are not quite constructed in a hotel manner and are houses converted to hotels.
  • The best hotels may also have the most basic amenities.
  • Extra Beds are not provided in any hotel instead Mattress and Roll Over's are provided for extra person in a room.
  • There are no lifts in any of the hotels. The guests may have to climb 3 floors to reach their room.
  • The hotels do not have electricity backups. In case of power failure one has to adjust with candle lights.
  • Water scarcity prevails in almost in all hotels. Mostly the guests get buckets of Hot & Cold water on fixed basis.
  • The staffs of the hotels are not professionally trained in hospitality so please expect very basic services from them.
  • Fooding is not a problem in the entire region. You can get fresh home style cooked food almost in all the hotels by the local people and not professional Chefs.
  • In case of extreme cold weather room heaters can be taken from the hotel on direct payment.

Important Informations for Guests travelling to Arunachal Pradesh:

  • Guests travelling to Arunachal Pradesh are advised to carry light woolen clothes during summers (April - June) and heavy woolen clothes during winters (November - March).
  • Indian Nationals travelling to Arunachal Pradesh require Inner Line Permit.
  • We need soft copies of recent coloured passport size photographs and valid photo identity proof of all the travellers to process Inner Line Permit which normally takes 3-5 Working Days.
  • Voter ID Card, AADHAR Card, Driving Liscence, Passport, School Photo ID card (for kids) are recognised as valid ID proof.
  • The softcopies of the documents should be distinct and clear visibility.
  • Foreign Nationals travelling to Arunachal Pradesh require Restricted Area Permit. We require soft copies of coloured passport size photographs, copy of passport and copy of valid visa to process the same. It takes normally 15-30 Working Days.
  • The highest point while travelling in the Tawang sector is 13700 ft above sea level which is the Sela Pass.
  • Road widening work is in progress from Bhalukpong to Tawang as a result of which the roads are not in smooth condition.
  • The average speed of the vehicles in this route is 25-30 Km/Hr.

Best time to visit Arunachal Pradesh:

  • Arunachal Pradesh has salubrious climate all through the year. The state experiences monsoon rains between the months of June to August. .
  • The ideal time to visit Arunachal Pradesh is between the months of September to May.
