Day wise Itinerary

DAY 1 Nameri eco camp

Arrive at Guahati Airport, the gateway of the East of India ! Drive to Nameri eco camp.This camp in located on the banks of Kameng river on the Assam side in the middle of a countryside,surrounded by tropical jungle. Wake up in the morning with birdsong and hornbill flying over.

DAY 2 Dirang

Dirang
Drive to Dirang , one of the most beautiful valleys of the region. This place is a fruit lovers paradise. Visit orchards with fruits like apple, peach,kiwi, orange, parcemom,pomegranat, walnut etc. Take a dip in the healing hot sulphur spring in the evening.

DAY 3 Tawang

Tawang
To Tawang, en route cross Sela pass at 14,000 ft. This is the site of the Indo-China war of 1962.Visit the Jswant Singh memorial, the valiant soldier who single handedly fought and held off the Chinese army for over 48 hrs. Stay at Hotel.

DAY 4 Tawang

Early morning visit to the 400 years old Tawang monastry.Attend the prayer session with the months, visit the monastry meuseum. Then visit to the Thukje Chueling Ani Gompa(Nunnery), share few moments with the peaceful way of life of the nuns away from the madding crowd and worldly afflictions. After lunch visit Urgeling the birth place of the renegade Dalai lama the VIth, who was a prolific poet and musician, whos songs are still sung by the locals of the region.

DAY 5 Tawang

Tawang
To Gorsam Chorten in Zimithang, on a scenic drive along the Bhutanese frontier .Also following escape route of the present Dalai Lama from Lhasa in 1959. Picnic lunch at Gorsam. Evening back to Tawang.

DAY 6 Bomdilla

Bomdilla
Drive to Bomdila, the district headquater of west Kameng district.Take a walk in the local market and visit monastries in the town. Overnight at Hotel.

DAY 7 Kameng

Bomdilla
Drive along the kameng river to Seppa , the home of the Nishis, trek to an authentic Nishi village.Overnite at the village.

DAY 8 Departure

Kameng
After morning breakfast, depart for Dibrugarh Airport/Railway Station for further tavel to home.

Important notes on hotels in Arunachal Pradesh and other remote areas

  • Most of the hotels are not quite constructed in a hotel manner and are houses converted to hotels.
  • The best hotels may also have the most basic amenities.
  • Extra Beds are not provided in any hotel instead Mattress and Roll Over's are provided for extra person in a room.
  • There are no lifts in any of the hotels. The guests may have to climb 3 floors to reach their room.
  • The hotels do not have electricity backups. In case of power failure one has to adjust with candle lights.
  • Water scarcity prevails in almost in all hotels. Mostly the guests get buckets of Hot & Cold water on fixed basis.
  • The staffs of the hotels are not professionally trained in hospitality so please expect very basic services from them.
  • Fooding is not a problem in the entire region. You can get fresh home style cooked food almost in all the hotels by the local people and not professional Chefs.
  • In case of extreme cold weather room heaters can be taken from the hotel on direct payment.

Important Informations for Guests travelling to Arunachal Pradesh:

  • Guests travelling to Arunachal Pradesh are advised to carry light woolen clothes during summers (April - June) and heavy woolen clothes during winters (November - March).
  • Indian Nationals travelling to Arunachal Pradesh require Inner Line Permit.
  • We need soft copies of recent coloured passport size photographs and valid photo identity proof of all the travellers to process Inner Line Permit which normally takes 3-5 Working Days.
  • Voter ID Card, AADHAR Card, Driving Liscence, Passport, School Photo ID card (for kids) are recognised as valid ID proof.
  • The softcopies of the documents should be distinct and clear visibility.
  • Foreign Nationals travelling to Arunachal Pradesh require Restricted Area Permit. We require soft copies of coloured passport size photographs, copy of passport and copy of valid visa to process the same. It takes normally 15-30 Working Days.
  • The highest point while travelling in the Tawang sector is 13700 ft above sea level which is the Sela Pass.
  • Road widening work is in progress from Bhalukpong to Tawang as a result of which the roads are not in smooth condition.
  • The average speed of the vehicles in this route is 25-30 Km/Hr.

Best time to visit Arunachal Pradesh:

  • Arunachal Pradesh has salubrious climate all through the year. The state experiences monsoon rains between the months of June to August. .
  • The ideal time to visit Arunachal Pradesh is between the months of September to May.
